What are DECs?
Display Energy Certificates have been in existence since 2008. It is mandatory for all publicly funded organisations that occupy all or part of a building with a floor area greater than 250m² to display a valid certificate for that building.
A DEC shows a building's Operational Rating — your CO₂e emissions per square metre compared to a benchmark building of similar size and use, on a scale of A to G.
